Eyewitness Travel Guide Deluxe Gift Edition to Sydney
Published in Leather Bound by Dk Pub Merchandise (01 April, 2000)
Authors: Ken Brass and Kristy McKenzie
Average review score:

A Great Guide to Sydney
A wonderful deluxe edition just in time for the Olympics. This guide provides up-to-the-minute details that are essential for Olympic and other travellers. Much reconstruction has been going on in Sydney, and older guides (even from last year) can be terribly inaccurate. This guide comes in a handy travel case which makes for easy reading on the go. I highly recommend it!

Ghost Stories: My Mother Told Me

Ghost Stories My Mother Told Me
I love books like this, and Lecy McKenzie Pritchett has written a winner here. There are eight (8) short stories that will catch you imagination, and make you think. From The Lady In the Lake to Do You Believe In Ghost, she has written a book full of encounters of the ghostly kind that are sure to please.
I was thrilled, chilled, and down right entertained, and could not stop reading once I began. Some of her stories were based on encounter with ghosts and spirits in real life, and those were the ones that were really fun to read. She definately has talent when writing about ghostly encounters.
Look for this Author and her books, because I will definately read anything else she has to offer. Don't know where she's been, but I look forward to reading more books by a new horror writer new to the scene.

Gospel According to Saint John (New Testament for Spiritual Readings)
Published in Hardcover by Seabury Pr (May, 1981)
Authors: John Huckle and J.L. McKenzie
Average review score:

John is a perfect argumentator
This Gospel starts when Jesus begins his mission on earth, when he goes on his way to glory and the crucifixion. This Gospel is built with a great sense of logic, explaining the mysterious facts, now and then, and with a great sense of suspense. It is a simple and easy-to-read story about Jesus.

This Gospel has a very good argumentative feeling. It tries to capture the attention and th reason of the readers. John is a born rhetorician, but for simple people, for everyone and no one in particular. The language is common, even plain, and yet poetical, clear, and yet very dense and packed with meaning.

The form itself is that of a very traditional romance-tale of the old old days. It is as poetical as the Rime of the Ancient Mariner, and as meaningful as Beowulf. That's why it is a very good first contact with Jesus and with the Christian faith and God. Even young children can follow and understand the story, and their reaction can only be a deep sense of injustice from the higher-ups, sympathy for Jesus, and condemnation of those who used their power to stop the freedom of speech of those who questioned that power. And then everyone will feel a deep sense if predestination, understanding that Jesus followed a road that had been decided upon beforehand by his Father, by God himself, or, for those who do not believe in God, by the general social and political situation of the time in Jerusalem.

A must for new dealers
I have been a dealer in our local Casino for 5 years. I was always intimadated by the game of craps. I decided that it was high time to learn the game since I knew all the other games we had to offer. The hardest thing for me to learn was the language. I bought and read "A Guide to Craps Lingo from Snake Eyes to Muleteeth and it made my experience in learning craps so much easier. This book is a must for new dealers and I'm sure players will appreciate it also. Thanks Dave and Chris......Now I am on the craps crew and even enjoy the game. Debi Cooperman

Histology & Cell Biology: PreTest Self-Assessment & Review (Pretest Basic Science Series)
Published in Paperback by McGraw-Hill Professional (30 September, 1998)
Authors: Robert M. Klein and James C. McKenzie
Average review score:

Great review book for microscopic and gross anatomy
This PreTest includes many clinical questions and bridges cell biology, physiology, human anatomy, embryology, and an introduction to pathology. It was very useful during the anatomy courses and helped me to a 244 on USMLE I. I know, there isn't much pure histology on the boards, but this book helped me quickly review the microscopic and gross anatomical structure of the body and prepare for USMLE I. First Aid gave me a list of areas to emphasize, but it has errors and is too lightweight for those students who want to excel and do a first rate residency.

Jellyfish Inside Out
What a great book for kids! There's really nothing else out there for 9 to 12 year-olds on jellyfish. My niece just loved this! The text is fun, the photos are terrific and the CD-ROM gave her lots to do after she read the book. She also liked the section where she learned about becoming a scientist!

Blending Freud, Jung, and True Religion
This book is so good. I read it on the heels of _Psychology and Superstition_. I got these two books at a closeout sale while at Berkeley in the 70's. I wish I read them thirty years ago. It just smooths out the whole psychoanalytic tradition bring to it a richness and meaning that is soothing to the soul and enriching to the mind.
